My Japanese is not very good and I am not confident about writing the RIYUSHO for Japan PR application. What should I do?

What is Riyusho (State of Reasons)

The application for permanent residence(PR) requires the RIYUSHO (means Statement of Reasons). According to the Immigration Bureau website, the RIYUSHO should be “A statement of the reason(s) why you need your  permanent residence permit, in any format you wish. If it is written in a language not Japanese日本語, a translation is required.

The purpose of the RIYUSHO is to provide the officer with a correct understanding of the reasons why the applicant needs PR permission and that the applicant meets the requirements for Japan PR Guideline by supplementing the background and circumstances of the application, which are difficult to understand from the submitted documents alone.

This can also influence the immigration officer’s decision.

However, it is common to use templates from the Internet or other sources. The template may not be appropriate for your situation. Required information may be missing, and the credibility of your application may be questioned.

If the IIMMIGRATION OFFICER does not understand your application with the set of application documents provided on the website, he/she will often deny the application without asking for additional explanations or documentation.

Contents of RIYUSHO

In preparing your RIYUSHO, it is important to
(1) explain that you meet the PR requirements based on the Immigration Law and PR Guidelines,
(2) provide additional necessary information that cannot be found in the submitted documents alone, and
(3) simply state your reason for applying for PR.

The reason for applying for PR is different for each person and is not relevant to the screening process. For example, I want to apply for a mortgage. I like Japanese animation, I love my Japanese wife, etc.
